Chinese Medicine is a complete medical system that is capable of treating disease in all forms and traditionally there is an emphasis on prevention.
Mark practices a distal method of Acupuncture which involves inserting extremely fine sterile, single use needles away from the affected area to avoid ‘stirring up’ the pain. He also frequently uses a painless technique of electrical energy applied to the needles which cover the affected area or muscular ‘trigger-points.’
The areas in which Mark holds a clinical focus include:
-
Pain Management including lower back, neck & shoulders, sciatica.
-
Stress & Anxiety
-
Headache, Migraines & Insomnia
-
Facial Rejuvenation including Trigeminal Neuralgia & Bell’s Palsy
Everything we use are products provided by nature, the effects may not be as fast a synthetic pharmaceuticals, however the aim is to assess the patient using Chinese Medicine philosophical concepts and restore balance to the individual by engaging the body’s own natural healing ability, and returning homeostasis.
Personalised health plans may include acupuncture and/or herbal medicines; however compliance is the key, no gain can be expected without ongoing treatment for 2-3 weeks for acute, longer for chronic conditions.
Herbs are typically in tincture or powder form.
Tinctures are more cost efficient and easier to take, usually priced around $12 per week. Powders (or granules) can be easily adjusted from visit to visit however some people find them difficult to take and are slightly more expensive usually around $26 per week.
