Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture is a type of therapy which means that results are cumulative with ongoing care, personalised health plans often include acupuncture and/or herbal prescriptions; however compliance is the key, no gain can be expected without ongoing treatments several times per week for the first few weeks (treatment plans are available to make this more affordable,) then later drawing out the time between treatments moving forward.

It is worth keeping in mind that longer duration of ongoing care is often required depending on the severity and course of more chronic conditions.

The areas in which Mark holds a clinical focus include:

*Pain Management including lower back, neck & shoulders, sciatica.

*Stress, Anxiety and Fatigue.

*Headache, Migraines & Insomnia.

*Facial Rejuvenation, Trigeminal Neuralgia & Bell’s Palsy.

Mark practices a distal method of Acupuncture which involves inserting extremely fine sterile, single use needles away from the affected area to avoid ‘stirring up’ the pain.  He also frequently uses a painless technique of electrical energy applied to the needles which cover the affected area or muscular ‘trigger-points.’

ONLINE HERBAL CONSULTATIONS AVAILABLE
Simply send me an SMS with the headline  *online herbal consultation*, we will send you a comprehensive questionnaire which will enable us to custom make you a 2 week supply of medicinal herbal powder.  The questionnaire will probably take about 20 minutes to complete, a full photo of your tongue and pulse rate will also enable us to expertly prescribe herbal medication for your condition.  It is a perfect solution for those people not located close to our offices.  Consultation and 14 days supply of herbal powders INCLUDING postage is only $95 for the initial consultation and $80 for follow-up consultations*.

*Credit/Debit card is required and unfortunately online consultations do not qualify for health insurance rebates.  Herbal products only available within Australia.

Everything we use are products provided by nature (no exotic animal products,) the effects may not be as fast as Western pharmaceuticals, however the aim is to assess the patient using Chinese Medicine philosophical concepts and restore balance to the individual by engaging the body’s own natural healing ability, and returning homeostasis.

Herbs are typically available in a tincture or powdered form.

Tinctures are more cost efficient and easier to take, usually priced around $12 per week.  Powders (or granules) are usually more potent and can be tailor prescribed to individual circumstances however they are slightly more expensive usually around $26 per week and fussy people sometimes find them unpalatable.

HERBAL Consultations WITHOUT Acupuncture are also fine, please don’t feel as though you must have acupuncture as part of the treatment.
