Have you tried Shiatsu before?
Sorry to answer a question with a question, but I’m sure you have heard of Acupuncture right?
Acupuncture has been one of the most rigorously researched scientific modalities over the past decade or so. And of course you know all about massage, it has been a godsend for sore and aching muscles since the dawn of time.
Shiatsu is a whole body Traditional Japanese therapy which combines acupressure (acupuncture without needles) and special massage techniques along the myofascial pathways of the human anatomy.
Shiatsu therapists are trained to understand the acupuncture point combinations, in conjunction with working on trigger points for tight, movement restricted muscles with gentle stretching and joint mobilisation to increase flexibility and decrease pain. Other Oriental Therapies include moxibustion (burning dried mugwort in specific locations,) cupping and myofascial scraping or ‘gua sha’ may be recommended by your practitioner or incorporated into the treatment at your request.
Your practitioner will treat you from head to toe on a comfy Japanese ‘futon style’ padded floor mattress, the client remained lightly dressed so there is no need to strip down and feel self conscious… Therapeutic benefits of Shiatsu treatment include relieving pain from the neck, back, shoulders and lower limbs for such conditions as Sciatica or Piriformis syndrome. Relief of stress and anxiety is also a commonly sought reason for people to attend a Shiatsu Treatment, and most people report feeling as though they ‘float out’ post treatment and enjoy a deeper than usual sleep that same night.
Options include 60 minute, 100 minutes treatments. Gift cards are also available.
